Hi Amanda~

A little late, but I thought Word Wednesdays is a wonderful idea!!!

Unto you therefore which believe he is precious: but unto them which be disobedient, the stone which the builders disallowed, the same is made the head of the corner,
And a stone of stumbling, and a rock of offense, even to them which stumble at the word, being disobedient: whereunto also they were appointed.
But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvelous light;
Which in time past were not a people, but are now the people of God: which had not obtained mercy, but now have obtained mercy. ~ 1 Peter 2:7-10

And my memory verse for this week . . . :)

"My little children, let us not love in word, neither in tongue; but in deed and in truth." - 1 John 3:18

Thank you for the post, Amanda!

Love,

@Kenzi - I'll take "a little late." :) Thanks for sharing your verses! The one that stands out to me is 1 Peter 2:9; the reason we are "a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people" is not just so we can be holy and righteous or even "set-apart," but that we "would shew forth the praises of HIM!!!" All that we are and should be should be for His glory and praise, sharing His salvation with a lost and dying world! I know that I need this reminder often, as my eyes get clouded with temporary trials instead of looking up to that which is eternal and lasting!

@Patience - thank you for sharing your verses as well. :) How wonderful and faithful our God is to answer every time we call! What a blessing to know that He knows everything and He will guide us according to His truth. -- Ah, I see you're still on "love" in your memory verses. :) That verse stands out to me every time I read 1 John, as it is super easy to say "I love you," but it's not our words but our actions that prove our love (which, according to Matthew 22:37-40 should be rooted first in love for God). :)

Love you both!

Hey Amanda!

Amen, and praise the Lord!! Yep - *smiles* - we're still on love in our memory verses, though we're almost finished. :D That means we have over twenty verses memorized! Joy is our next one. :) Oh, that is so very true about our words and actions!

Thank you! :)

Love you too!
-Patience
